School Magazine

I am starting the school magazine in a group consisting of two people: Me and Hope Morton. We had several ideas for the name of the mag such as Picture Perfect and Home Time, but in the end we settled for Class Dismissed. This is because we wanted it to be for the students, by the students, so we wanted something that related to them. So even though 6th form is very good we're only human and look forward to Break and the end of the day just as much.
We wanted the value of our magazine to be focused on what the pupils want to know, not just need-to-know. So it's more focused on the comfort and happiness of the students when they are at 6th form, rather than making the school look better- the students make the school.
We also decided that it would be 16 pages so that the articles could be double pages, encouraging the writers to be less restricted and write better. Some of the articles we came up with are;

• 2 Week rule? What 2 week rule? Article about deciding what to wear
• Latest Events - newsletters, Calender, Special Events
• Breaking News! Gossip and school updates
• Competitions- prizes etc
• PARKWOOD STUDENT DISCOUNT INCREASED TO 20%!
• Sports events
• Pool Competition- boys vs girls
